Ethiopia is known for its mountains. The Ethiopian Highlands are the largest continuous area of elevation in Africa. The low points of the highlands are around 4,900 ft (1,500 m), while the summits reach heights of up to 14,930 ft(4,550 m). The Semien Mountains are the tallest peak of the Ethiopian Highlands.
